Did you know that in Australia, there are around
70,000 tandem skydives made every year? Whether you have been a
Nor-Wester for years or just travelling through the Pilbara, a tandem
skydive is the ultimate way to see this rugged coastline. When wind
conditions allow, we may be able to land with you on the beach in front
of Trawlers Tavern at Point Samson. We guarantee the beer afterwards
will have never tasted so good!
The tandem skydive is a fabulous way to
experience the action packed adventure of freefall for the first time,
simply because there is no formal training necessary, no drills for you
to remember and no major responsibility on your part. Being attached to
your instructor via a tandem harness enables you to enjoy the thrill of
skydiving in a comfortable situation, with nothing to do except enjoy
the visuals and feel the wind speed past your face as you wave to your
camera person.
A tandem jump will cost $399 from
10,000 feet. For an extra $50 you can go to 12,000 feet, and an
extra $50 will get you to 14,000 - the highest you can go without
oxygen. After approximately ten minutes training, you will
climb to height in our Cessna 182, which will take about 25 minutes. On
the flight you will see spectacular views of the coast and the sparkling
archipelago. Your instructor will attach your harness to his, then, when
the door opens you will experience an overwhelming adrenalin rush. That
first step may overload your senses! After you exit the plane, you will
have approximately fifty seconds of freefall, travelling at 180-200 kms
per hour. Your instructor will open your parachute at 5000 feet, and
then you will have about five minutes under canopy, floating gently to
the ground. You will be able to talk to your instructor once your
parachute is open, and he may let you steer the parachute while you
enjoy views that can’t be bettered by any other skydiving club in
Australia. You may also have your tandem master wear a camera on
his wrist and film and photograph your preparation, freefall and landing. You
will be sure to show your family and friends over and over! We can
put your jump on a professionally edited DVD for $150. Sometimes we have an outside camera man available who can jump with
you, film your skydive and take digital still photographs. This option
$200 on
DVD. See our
faq's for more info and
online bookings to book!
