We are located five minutes from the centre of the small town of
Wickham in North West Australia. The small fishing village of Point
Samson is just ten minutes away, and you'll often find us landing on the
beach there of an afternoon, and enjoying a beer at the tavern after the
last sunset jump. We are approximately thirty minutes drive from the
larger town of Karratha, two hours drive from Port Hedland, and eight
hours south of Broome. This area is known as the Pilbara, and we are
about 1600 kilometres north of Perth.
The Pilbara is a vast red country of sweeping plains and rocky hills.
It is what many people imagine when they dream of Australia. The
coastline is one of deserted, white, sandy beaches. If you enjoy
the outdoors, you can find solitude in the type of beautiful camping
areas only to be found in a sparsely populated remote area. Only a short
distance away is Karinjini National Park, filled with the most
beautiful, uncrowded gorges.
Our coastline is surrounded by a spectacular archipelago of deserted
islands. Our family of friends at the club are happy to take skydiving
visitors fishing and diving on the archipelago, where there is a wealth
of marine life such as dolphins and turtles, even whales in the right
season. The fishing in this area is legendary, and we promise you will
never taste a fish as good as a fresh coral trout or bluebone
that you have caught yourself!
We will be happy to show you around the area from a local's
perspective. You will see the real Australia, and meet people more
relaxed and friendly than you would find in the cities.
The weather here is perfect between April and September. We can
guarantee that we will jump every day on demand during this period. Days
until August are around 20-25 degrees C, and nights are just cool enough
for an outdoor bonfire. October and November can be a little windier,
but either in the morning or afternoon, not usually both. December
starts to really warm up. January and February are just too hot, and
skydiving operations slow right down. We start operating again in March,
when the weather starts to become pleasant again.
We invite all skydivers and prospective skydivers to come and
discover the best kept secret in Australia! But you had better be quick
before we are uncovered by the tourist masses!
Greyhound Pioneer Buses stop
here from Darwin and Broome or Perth.
Qantas Airlink, and Skywest
fly to Karratha where we can pick you up. (Note that airfares are much
cheaper when purchased as part of an international ticket). For more
