Our student equipment is the most modern student training equipment
in the world, and internationally recognised. We were one of the first clubs in Australia to train our
students using a throw-away pilot chute and two action
emergency procedures. Instead of being taught to pull a ripcord to
deploy your parachute, which you then have to hold onto and not lose, (it
can get expensive if you drop it,) we will teach you to use a
hand-deployed pilot chute. Instead of being trained to pull a single
yellow handle for your emergency procedures, we will train you the
correct handles to pull from the start. Every sport skydiver in
Australia uses a two-action emergency procedure, and almost all
use a throw away pilot chute. That means that when you finish
your student training, you do not have to do a conversion course to
change your equipment, and unlearn the procedures you have learned. At
Wickham Skydivers, we believe in learning it right the first time, and
the equipment you wear as a student looks exactly the same as what your
instructor wears. This fact alone makes us unique to all other dropzones
in Western Australia. And, there's no expensive conversion courses to do
after you've achieved your A-licence. Our student equipment is
designed in every way so that your safety is not compromised. It
really is the best. Our
student harnesses are Wings
parachute systems. They contain the most trusted and reliable Automatic
Activation Device, the Cypres. Our
student parachutes are
Aerodyne Solo, Hickster Vantage and
Performance Designs'
Sabre 2.
Our tandem equipment is The
Relative Workshop's Sigma Tandem Harness, the latest, safest and
most comfortable design from the father of modern skydiving, Bill Booth.
Inside the Sigmas are new Aerodyne A2 350 tandem canopies. |
